Merdem’s number one operational priority remains health, safety and the environment.

For us, a safe work environment is a sign of quality.

 

Safeguarding the health and safety of our people, our customers and our contractors is not only a moral responsibility, but also essential to the success of the business. We promote a safety culture where each team member is responsible for the safety of those around them - and is required to act accordingly.

 

Equally important is minimizing the impact of our operations on the local communities in which we live and work. Our aim is to set industry-leading standards on health, safety and the environment and make these a point of key competitive advantage in our markets.

 

Training is an essential component of workplace HSE. It begins with orientation for all employees and contractors, and continues with updates and reviews through regularly scheduled meetings and refreshers. All employees are committed to achieving annual training, including general and job-specific HSE training.

Merdem provides a range of support services to our clients. Our HSE policy forms an integral part of our business plan and is central to our strategy for the future. We recognize that great health, safety, environmental practices and quality management contribute to great people delivering great services.

At the center of Merdem Catering’s culinary success lie a collaborative teamwork, which serves as the inspiration for many of the flavorful dishes on the menu, and constant knowledge sharing where culinary teams enhance their knowledge of traditional cooking techniques.

 

International Organization of Standardization presented Merdem with the “ISO 22000:2005 and ISO 9001:2008” certification for Food Safety and Management System as well as “TS 1302” certification for Hygiene and Sanitation Standards. Certificates are renewed on a regular basis.

ISO 22000:2005 and ISO 9001:2008 Certification

The standard allows defining each workers’ responsibility in provision the safety in nutritional products. Co- ordinate joint works of our employees starts up the warning mechanism instead of reworking the problems that already occurred. The awareness of our workers about the importance of the nutrition safety is accomplished through intensive training, by the teaching materials that our company developed. In the course of training included the aspects such as the importance of the nutrition safety, microbiology, the importance of personal hygiene, the control of temperature regime, crisscross pollution, cleaning and disinfection, and more.

In the modern world with its fussiness and haste more and more people prefer to eat in restaurants, cafés and buy take – away food. But not everyone understands that eating that kind of food can lead to a risk of having food – born diseases and poisonings. Causative organisms can serve as the reason for these diseases, which can fall into food if the level of personal hygiene is low, or non – compliance of the temperature regime, crisscross pollution, low level of cleaning and disinfection.

 

Statistics show that observing only the quality of the manufacturer’s final product is not enough. The product can be susceptible to a spoiling threat in any stage of the production chain, including agriculture manufacturing, foodstuff producers, wrappers, transportations, and services. To reach full safety in nutritional field only with an effort of controllers in enterprises is not possible. The desirable result can be achieved only after all the workers of nutritional field are involved in the provision of product safety.

 

For the provision of the quality in nutritional field in every stage of its production, transportation and realization, was developed ISO 22000 “Food Safety Management System”. Standard is elaborated by the principle of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and by the experience in enterprise management system, which is contained in the standards ISO 9001 (Quality System Standard).
